Academics Plus Web and Access track daily attendance for each participant, and can produce all of the GEAR UP Annual Performance Report (APR) sections.

The data is added up in a variety of ways to not only complete the APR, but to produce a fully searchable database for reporting and evaluation purposes. Using Academics Plus Web and Access, you can:

• Create and define activities according to the Department of Education's standards.


• Generate bar-coded rosters for taking attendance at GEAR UP activities

• Scan attendance with an easy bar code scanning process; reduce entry time and error.


• Link to your school district's student information system database to import data and save data entry time.
• Print Reports for the Department of Education Annual Performance Report.
• Assist program administration and track attendance with over 20 reports.
• Search the system for information for quick access to information and impromptu reports.
• Import data from multiple GEAR UP sites with a Central Office feature designed for grant level analysis and reporting.
• Access to system tables and code for "behind-the-scenes" analysis by Microsoft Access "advanced" users.

The System was developed and is owned by Milwaukee Public Schools. Currently, five GEAR UP Grant Programs (over 34 schools) in Wisconsin, Texas and Alaska use Academics Plus Web and Access. Cayen Systems (formerly Cayen & Associates) is the exclusive licensee of Academics Plus Web and Access.
